BENTHOWAVE INSTRUMENT INC. Acoustic Transducer & System

BII power amplifiers are engineered to drive underwater and
ultrasonic transducers across a broad frequency range from 100 Hz to
10 MHz. They are well suited for a wide range of acoustic
applications, including SONAR, non-destructive testing (NDT),
high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), and ultrasonic power
transducers. These systems support both long-range acoustic
communication and sensing applications over distances exceeding 10
km, as well as short-range applications at distances below 0.1 m.
Both linear and switching (pulse) power amplifier architectures are
available to meet diverse system requirements.
The BII5110 Series switching power amplifiers combine high
output-power capability with low power consumption, high efficiency,
wide bandwidth, and a compact form factor. These characteristics
make the series particularly well suited for portable and
battery-powered acoustic instruments, including sonobuoys,
underwater pingers, transponders, acoustic releases, and other
subsea acoustic systems.

| Switching (Pulse) Power Amplifiers: Input signal of the PA is pulse or square signals with TTL/CMOS level or 2Vpp to 5Vpp. |
| Source Level (dB µPa*m) in water. DI: Directivity Index of a Transducer, η: Transducer Efficiency, in dB, η = -1.55dB (η = 0.7) is used in the table above. η of broadband planar transducers such as NDT Transducers could be ≤ -5dB, η of broadband spherical or cylindrical transducers could be ≥ -0.5dB. |
